Win £1000 for your school

The Arqiva Schools Radio Award is a fantastic opportunity for your students to win radio industry recognition and £1000 for your school. This award has been specially created by the National Schools Radio Network to showcase and reward the best broadcasts by 11-18 year olds at the prestigious Arqiva Commercial Radio Awards 2008. It's free, easy to enter and fun to take part - just register with the National Schools Radio Network and download the entry form below.

The competition is open to all schools in Great Britain who create radio or audio programmes for broadcast on air or on-line. Your entry should be a radio broadcast, up to 10 minutes long and on any topic, created solely by students between 1st May 2007 and 1st April 2008. Your entry should be posted to the address below on a CD, MP3, memory stick or cassette clearly labelled with your school name, address, telephone and email details. It must be accompanied by a completed official entry form and a short supporting letter from a teacher on school headed paper. Entries must be posted to arrive before the closing date of April 18th 2008.

A teacher and a student representative of the three short-listed entries will be invited to hear the winner announced at the Arqiva Commercial Radio Awards 2008. The winning entry will receive a cheque for £1000 towards improving their school's radio facilities - that could mean new hardware, better software or more advanced audio equipment. The school will also receive a trophy and the winning team will enjoy the unique experience of spending a day with presenters, producers and engineers at a local radio station.

The full competition conditions can be downloaded below. Please register your school with the National Schools Radio Network before submitting your entry for the Arqiva Schools Radio Award.
