Win £1000 for your school
The Arqiva Schools Radio Award is a fantastic opportunity for you to win radio industry recognition and £1000 for your school. This award has been specially created by the National Schools Radio Network for students like you – it is a chance to showcase and reward your talents as we pick the best broadcasts by 11-18 year olds at the prestigious Arqiva Commercial Radio Awards 2008. It’s free, easy to enter and fun to take part – just get your teacher involved and follow the steps below!
How to enter
- Teachers: register with the National Schools Radio network
- Students: (aged 11-18) create a radio programme on any topic, up to 10 minutes long, with no outside professional help
- Teachers/students: broadcast and/or post your programme on a suitable social networking site between May 1st 2007 and April 1st 2008
- Teachers/students: download and complete the entry form for the Arqiva Schools Radio Awards
- Teachers: write a short supporting letter on school headed paper
- Teachers/students: record your programme to a CD, MP3, memory stick or cassette clearly labelled with your school name, address, telephone and email details
- Teachers/students: post your entry, entry form and supporting letter to the address below. It must arrive before April 18th 2008

If your entry is short-listed your teacher and a representative of your team will be invited to hear the winner announced at the spectacular Arqiva Commercial Radio Awards 2008. If you win you will receive a cheque for £1000 towards improving your school’s radio facilities – that could mean new hardware, better software or more advanced audio equipment. Along with a trophy, you and your the winning team will enjoy the unique experience of spending a day with presenters, producers and engineers at a local radio station.
