Sony Winners Announced

At a packed dinner in the Grosvenor House Hotel in central London the 2009 winners of the Sony Awards for Schools Radio were announced. Comedian Rory Bremner introduced the President of The Vision Charity, Peter Thompson, who made the announcement.

The winner of the Documentary and Feature Award was the team from the ISCA College for Media Arts. Included in the team were: Hattie Drinkald, Rachel Hunter, Joe Kidd, Daniel Heath, Hazel Gibbens, Conor Beswick and Josh Tucker. The member of staff guiding the team was Daniel Smith. The winners will attend a presentation in the boardroom of Sony in the United Kingdom early in the New Year. The schools will both receive £750 of Sony equipment to invest in their radio station and the staff members will be invitaed to the annual Sony Radio Awards along with stars from the BBC and commercial radio.
