At a star studded event featuring the the leading names of commercial radio one of the top prizes was awarded to a primary school in High Wycombe. Chepping View Primary School took the Arqiva Schools Radio Award for 2009. The award was presented by LBC radio presenter and former Mayor of London, Ken Livingstone. The judges said that they were overwhelmed by the quality of the production which had involved no more than a lap top computer with built in microphone and free downloaded software. Class teacher, Caroline Twigge, accepting the prize on behalf of the pupils stressed that every every element of the broadcasts were chosen, researched, written and recorded exclusively by the children.
