Arqiva
Arqiva provides technical facilities to the whole of the UK broadcast industry. They also support the annual awards for commercial radio and the annual award for School Radio Station of the Year.

British Phonographic Industry
The BPI is involved with the whole of the UK music industry and organises the annual Brit awards.

Community Media Association
The CMA encourage community broadcasting throughout the UK. They are involved in both radio and television and run training programmes.

Clyde Broadcast
These guys make equipment specially designed for use in schools. SchoolsRadio.com have bought one of their portable units that you can hire in order to allow you to try the best for almost nothing.

Hospital Broadcasting Association
This organisation co-ordinates all the hospital broadcasters in the UK. There is probably a hospital with radio experience near you and they may well offer to help.

IRN provide a news service to commercial radio stations around the country and might provide you with news as well.

These guys run a graduate training programme in Sussex

Office of Communications
Ofcom is the regulator responsible for broadcasting in the UK. They look after everything from telecommunications to radio but just because they are big does not mean they cannot help. All broadcasters using terrestrial frequencies need a licence from Ofcom so if you are thinking of going that route you will need an Ofcom licence. Check out the details of an RSL or an LPAM licence on their site.

MCPS-PRS Alliance
This is the copyright society looking after the interests of the talent. If you use their material then you need a licence. They are there to help not to frighten you off so make sure you contact them and get a licence.

Phonographic Performance Ltd
PPL is the copyright society looking after the interests of the record labels. If you play their records then you need a licence from them. They are not scary but really helpful and this link will put you in touch.

Radio Academy
www.radioacademy.org The Radio Academy is the professional body for everyone working in the radio industry. They organise the annual Radio Festival and created the UK Radio 'Hall of Fame'. Check this out to hear some of the greats from the past.

The Radio Centre is the trade association for all commercial radio throughout the United Kingdom. Check out this site to find the names and addresses of your local station.
